BRQ Dog Park Day August 16th!

We are happy to invite you to our Boxer Rescue Quebec Dog Park Day in Hudson, Qc on Saturday, August 16th from 9am until 5pm - at the Global Pet Foods Dog Park right off exit 26 for Hudson/St Lazare on Highway 40. Bring your dog, your friends, your family and anyone else you can round up!

BRQ will have a booth set up with raffle tickets (with great prizes!), doggie gear to trade for donations, free dog treats for all furry friends. Come and let your pooch have an off leash play with other pooches in a safe fenced in area. Meet previously adopted boxers, hear sucess stories, see before and after photos and especially.......inquire about available boxers! BRQ volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions and just plain have fun with everyone :0) We will also have adoption applications and foster applications handy ;0)

So be there or be square! We don't have events often so let's make this one count!

Thank you to Richard and Global Pet Foods Hudson for allowing us the use of their dog park as well as their help with this event.

If you have any questions just email us at info@boxerrescuequebec.com

Happy Birthday Grace and thank you for your generous donation to Scout!

Boxer Rescue Quebec would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt thank you to Grace - who for her 13th birthday forfeited gifts and instead asked for donations to BRQ to help pay for Scout's ultrasound. Grace and her family have a soft spot for all rescue boxers and especially the white ones -  last year they adopted Bianca, a deaf white boxer puppy, from BRQ. They have raised her, taught her sign language and have helped her grow into a super canine citizen. You can see her in the photo above with Gracie.

A huge thank you to all of Grace's friends and family - because of all of you, BRQ has finished off the last payment of Scout's medical bills.

So happy birthday Grace! Scout sends his love :0)

URGENT - foster homes needed

BRQ is once again in desperate need of foster homes. Please contact us for more information. BRQ est présentement en grand besoin de foyers d'accueil. Contactez-nous pour plus d'information.

BRQ Garage Sale a success! Thank you Joanne and family!!

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteer, Joanne, and her family for putting together and hosting a garage sale where proceeds were donated to BRQ for Scout's eye surgery and heart ultrasound. Without help like this we would never be able to continue to save our favourite goofy breed! We are still raising funds for Scout - if you'd like to make a donation you can do so here.

Buck is adopted!

We are very happy to say that our darling Buck is going to his forever home tomorrow! Yay! He will be missed by his best buddy and foster brother, Scout - who is still looking for a great family (!). Buck is going to a super home where he will have a boxer sister, Cashmere, who was also adopted from BRQ. We couldn't be happier for him. Thanks Nicole, Rick and Brandi!

About us

adopt a boxer dog montrealHere at Boxer Rescue Quebec, our main goals are to rescue and re-home boxers in need, educate the public about responsible dog ownership and to preserve the reputation of the boxer breed.  We also offer advice and suggestions to boxer owners who are trying to place their own boxers in forever homes themselves.  And of course to assist other rescue organizations with similar goals and philosophies.

Our philosophy is based on a hollistic approach to all aspects of a dog's well-being. This includes education and training, nutrition and health, and behavior.

Our main concern is to reduce stress and prepare the boxer for his new home and family, mentally, psychologically, emotionally and physically. A well-rounded boxer is what we aim for.

For this purpose, we use the "Soft Touch" methods, which mainly consist of calming signals(animal language used to communicate), positive training and education, massage and scentwork. We use this approach with all our rescues, and firmly believe its healing and rehabilitation capabilities. We place a strong emphasis on stress reduction, as stress is the main cause of many behavior problems encountered in dogs.

BRQ promotes responsible ownership and provides on-going support to all adopters on a permanent basis. We strongly believe that matching our boxers with the perfect owners is of primary importance and will take the time that it takes to thoroughly evaluate each boxer and its potential adopters. Our rescue prides itself in the amount of care we provide to our boxers and the support we provide to our adopters. Once a family has adopted from BRQ, they become part of our rescue family permanently.

BRQ values all boxers and is committed above all to preserving the reputation of the boxer breed. All our boxers are fully vet checked, spayed/neutered, worm checked  and temperament evaluated before placement. Health records and information are provided to the adopters.

HELP SAVE A BOXER! DONATE TO BOXER RESCUE QUEBEC

As a registered CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, we are always looking for financial support in order to better help the dogs that require special attention and/or have special medical needs.

These are some of the expenses rescue pays for in preparation for the adoption of a rescue to a new forever home. Not to mention the special cases where a rescue is severely malnourished, underweight or, ill and needing specialized treatment.

Every boxer rescued receives these treatments prior to adoption:
Spay/Neuter
Vaccines
Heartworm test/treatment/pills
Flea-tick check/treatment
Stool analysis
Full health examination
Antibiotics and medications if needed
Boarding fee
Surgery when needed ( health issues ie. lumps, broken limbs )
 X RAYS when needed

A big thank you to everyone who has been involved with BRQ this past year to volunteer their time or to contribute by sending monetary donations to help these rescues!
